Seeking FLYAZ (Framingham Public
Library Youth Advisors)
Volunteers for the Upcoming 2014 School Year!
Volunteers for the Upcoming 2014 School Year!
This is an excellent opportunity to earn community service
points, round out your college application, and shape the
direction of the Young Adult department of your library!
There will be two options:
FLYAZ Teen Tech Team- Are you a passionate gamer? Love technology? Lend your expertise to the library by joining the Teen Tech Team! As a member of the team, you’ll plan gaming events for teens and younger children and advise the Youth Services Librarian on all matters of technology for the teen area in the library. Grades 8-12.
FLYAZ Event Planning Committee- We are looking for creative and enthusiastic teens who work well on a team and enjoy planning events to help the Youth Services Librarian plan exciting events throughout the year. Last year we ran a Halloween Spookfest, a manga event, Minecraft tournament, two teens only open mic nights, a Hunger Games event and Divergent event, and a book ordering group at Framingham High School. You bring the ideas, and the library will provide the resources to make it happen! There will be two separate committees: one for middle school students in grades 7-8, and the other for grades 9-12.
To apply for any of these committees, please contact Marcy Maiorana, Youth Services Librarian, at 508-532-5570, ext. 4335 or email her at mmaiorana@minlib.net.
