Disaster Preparedness for Animals

It’s hard to obtain accurate statistics on just how many animals, large and small, are lost, injured or killed in natural disasters but it is estimated that more than 250,000 pets where left  stranded in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

Being unprepared for an emergency  may have a significant impact on the safety and wellness of your family.  Having a plan of action that every family member is aware can help minimize the risks.

Remember to include your pets and animals in your emergency plans.  Check the following links for advice on how to prepare for your pets should disaster strike.
